I just wanted to share some family photos from our trip to Lincoln Beach, Oregon. Jeff's sister Janice found us a large enough place to house all 18 of us (Jeff's two sisters, brother, parents, and all of our kids) within a short walking distance to the beach! It was such a nice (but way too short) visit! The kids had a blast. The cousins are all so close even though we don't see each other that often...they had a wonderful time!
One of the highlights of the trip was going to Depot Bay to watch the whales. We were scheduled for a charter boat whale watching tour but it was cancelled due to windy conditions. We were not disappointed, however, because we could see the gray whales right off of the shoreline. It was amazing. It was hard to get a decent photo (they jumped up and out of the water pretty quickly) but we did get a couple of back shots.
After our two days at Lincoln Beach we headed north to Ocean Shores to split up the drive home (and enjoy a couple more days on the coast). We must have spotted a couple hundred Brown Pelicans! We stopped along Highway 101 a couple times to take pictures and take in the sights. We wanted to be sure to play on the beach a little too, so we took a little break near Fort Stevens where the Peter Iredale cargo ship has been parked and slowly dissolving for over a hundred years.
We stayed right on the water in a hotel and did so much geocaching, beach combing, and exploring! The weather was so perfect that we were even able to spend an evening on the beach, make a beach fire, roast hot dogs and marshmallows, and fly kites! What fun!
Well....that's about it for tonight! It feels good to finally get some photos off the camera! Have a great week!
