WHAT AN AWESOME DAY!!!!!

HAPPY VETERAN'S DAY....
I can not begin to tell you how appreciated a day off, in the middle of the week no doubt, with no obligations, feels. Absolutely wonderful!!! We already had plans to stay inside and play games all day if it started raining (it was a possibility), but when we woke to sunshine I knew we had to get outside. Sure we could have spent the day raking leaves and doing things we should be doing....buy why?

We opened the geocaching website and picked a destination...The Chillowist. This road, which we had never explored, was used as a pathway over the hilltops into the Methow Valley by the Native Americans as long ago as 3,500 years ago (see sign below). We found five caches along the way, the last one at an elevation 2,100 feet above our starting point. The new rig did very well at climbing the road, but in the end we still had a good hour or more hiking up the hill ourselves. What a gorgeous view of the valley.
