A VISIT FROM THE LEPRECHAUNS
Max made a point of reminding me that the leprechauns always come and leave us some gold (I use to have a daycare, for those of you who didn't know), so we couldn't be left without a little fortune on the table and all over the floors this morning. I think Max keeps peeking in the bathroom to see if those pesky little green guys have turned our toilet water green like in the past. Corned beef is in the crock, and dinner is going to be delish! Hope you all have a festive day and are wearing your green!

MY FIRST TUTORIAL
HOW TO USE A PSD TEMPLATE in PHOTOSHOP
OK, so I really wanted to make a two page spread with this group of photos that I took at the top of the ski hill, the view is stunning. I thought making a template first would be the easiest way, so I wanted to share it with you. I took 7 shots rotating myself around, and then pieced them together to get a panoramic view like this...
Now, you don't have to have a panoramic view photo for to use these templates. Several separate photos will work just as well. So first download this template RIGHT HERE.
....got it, OK. So open your template (either one, left page or right, or both). Next open one of your photos. Select your photo by clicking CTRL A, or SELECT ALL, or use your rectangular marquee tool. Click COPY, or CTRL C to copy it. Now go to your template. Make sure that you have the layer selected that says "photo1" or "photo2", etc. so that you are putting the photo in a photo spot. Use your MAGIC WAND tool (it looks like a magic wand, it's right below the selection tool). Click on the spot on the template where your photo needs to go. You should now have marching ants around that spot like this.
got it?... O.K., now you already have your photo COPIED, all you have to do is PASTE INTO the template. This option in under the EDIT menu, and make sure you are using PASTE INTO instead of a plain old PASTE or else this won't work....Did it work? You should have your photo right into that spot. Is it too small, does it need to be tilted, shrunk down? No problem. You can use the EDIT TRANSFORM commands to get it right where you want it. After it is just perfect click CTRL E (LAYER MERGE DOWN) to flatten the layer and the photo. It can not be edited within the spot anymore after you do this.
So now, you should have this...
So now, plop in all your other photos, resize, rotate, etc. and CTRL E them to merge the layers.
Next add all your papers in the same exact way.
and finally, add other embellishments, journaling, titles, etc. the way you would on any layout. If you choose to use the journaling areas I have provided you just simply need to have your TEXT TOOL selected and click in that area, SELECT ALL and replace the text with your own.

there must be a god! i put off blog surfing today to try to learn ps cs2. i looked everywhere (and all day!) for a tutorial on how to use a template with it, all to no avail! i finally gave up a few minutes ago and decided it was time for blog surfing to relax. i was super frutrated. and lo-and-behold! what do i find on your blog, but the exact tutorial i searched for all day! and a fabulous template that i may use instead of the one i was fooling around with (it has bad karma now! lol!)! you've made my day - and now i know i should always play first and work later, because i might find something i really need!! thanks a ton!!!

Thanks for the lovely panoramic lo for one photo or a mixture. A beautiful scenic photoshot to scrap. Thanks for your method of using this template. Now I have 2 methods to try & see which one is easier. The 2nd, duplicating the photo for each layer. I will definitely let you know. Thanks Again.
