UPDATE ON THE TIME OFF...

Well, the schedule changed a bit from the original plan, but we're doing well, and the stress is just flying off of me the more I get done! Woohoo!

So, what did we do? Well, the leaves are raked (16 bags of it so far anyway), I finished 6 layouts (again, so far. I've got two days left right?), I finished half of my contributions to the digiworld, and we had some unexpected home renovations today!

Jeff had been gone both Saturday and Sunday doing Ski Patrol training in preparation for the new season, so when he finally had a day off today he snuck in to wake me up from my "sleeping in" slumber and suggested we all go out for breakfast (a rarity for us). He said he wanted to stop by Home Depot to look at some supplies. OK, FLASH BACK....after he woke me up this morning I went outside to take the garbage out. When I turned back towards the house I noticed that the trim was off at the rim of the roof and some rotted wood was laying on the ground. Turns out Jeff had a wild hair this morning and decided to replace it with new wood.

Well, everyone knows..... a trip to Home Depot never ends in only a piece of wood. We ended up leaving with an entire truckload (18 bags) of natural fiber blown insulation, the machine to blow it (they threw in the rental for free), and a gallon of paint to keep me busy today.

WELL....The Forcast Said Snow This Weekened....
but the only snow we saw, was the insulation all over the place. It was a total mess, but I know we'll be thankful when we get that heating bill this winter. After Jeff blew it up into the front trim, he brought it in through the back door and spent a couple hours blowing it into the attic, down into the walls and into every crevis he could find. We still have a few bags left so we'll do that tomorrow evening, I guess, after Jeff gets home from a day of conferences.

My Paint Job

After getting the new table, in that gorgeous dark wood, it just seemed too dark in our living area. Everything is dark. The main walls are dark rust orange and the couches brown. I had the back wall of the dining area a dark red (almost burgundy) color and it was in need of touching up anyway (lots of chips left over from hanging daycare artwork on the wall), so today was the day. I picked out a nice light color and painted the whole thing by myself in just a couple hours. What do you think?

Layouts Done
I can't share them all because I've been added to the Featured Designer Team (Thanks for thinking of me Lisa!) where I scrap with different designer's gorgeous goods to be used in a later newsletter. You can see the three of those that I did later. But the other two I did are...

OMG!!!! I was just watching this show and had to share. "Kids by the Dozen is" on TLC and these people have 17 kids!!!! Yep, 16! And I complain about being busy. I have to say though, this Mom is pretty lucky to have her 20 something kids still living at home and helping out. Check it out HERE.

The dining room looks great! Big difference. With all that new insulation, we'll have to crash your place if it gets too cold :0)
