New terms to me, until today. Our school recently gained two 29' canoes, a trailer, paddles, and life jackets through a grant called, "No Child Left Outside." Anyone was invited to go try them out today. Several staff and their families came and we all loaded up the 15 passenger boats and headed out to learn all the strokes and have a lesson in team work! It was great. For those of you that don't know, Starboard is a term for the "right" side of the boat. It derives from an English word, "Steorbord" meaning "side on which the boat is steered." Port, being the left side, is the side that ships used to moor on when their rudder was fixed to the right. This all makes sense after reading the explanation about right handed oarsmen on this site HERE. To me today, "Starboard" meant it was time to stroke (because I was on the right side).
I'm ready for fall...
I couldn't let go of summer, so I went out and got a few pretty Chrysanthemums to brighten the dead spots in my pots. Have a great Sunday!

Hay L,
Love the pics! The one looks like a lake just the other side of the border from us, called Blue lake, its that pretty color. This looks fun. Miles and I used to have a kayak, but with our hard-top on the VW Van (old one) it was too hard to take off, put on, so we sold it. We're thinking blowup ones in the future sometime?
Thanks for sharing! I'm ready for fall too!
