...I do have excuses, if you want to hear them...
1. I've been crazy busy since school started back!
2. School work, school work, and more school work!
3. I didn't even get my camera out of it's bag for three weeks (sorry Tom and Audrey, I realized I didn't snap a single shot during your visit)
4. I've been spending my spare time (does spare time even exist? hmmm...it must!) exercising~! Yep, I've been riding my bike 9-12 miles two or three times a week, roller skating and walking. We also got the Wii Fit finally, and even though I've only played twice, I can tell it will be a fun family favorite soon.
5. I actually finished the new kit that I began a month ago...Locked is available in my store at SBB now! Check it out!
This kit was so much fun to make, and I can think of dozens of different layout opportunities with all it has to offer! I also created an extra "after thought" of what it should include. You can grab it up for free at the link below.
While we are on the scrapbooking subject...
Here are a few new layouts that I made for the SBB September Newsletter that I can now share with you using products from the talented Kelly Thompson from SBB and Cinzia Loosemore. You can see the complete credits by peeking in my gallery HERE.

Steamboat Rock State Park
When my parents asked if we wanted to sneak in one more outdoor adventure this year, we jumped on the opportunity. They even let us pick the spot. We only live about an hour from Steamboat Rock and have always wanted to check it out. The camping was awesome, the park was clean, and the deer were tame. We were celebrating my dad's birthday so Max and I baked him a double layer carrot cake (displayed camping fashion in a "cooler ready" tupperware container). The kids had fun playing games with grandma and roasting marshmallows (along with a few flowers and plants that they roasted over the fire for fun).
Check out the deer that came and went out of the campground every morning and evening. Zoe took most of these...aren't they awesome! Look at how close Jeff and I were to these grazers, and notice how they are just hanging out while we ate our dinner Saturday night.
One of my goals for the trip was to climb the infamous Steamboat Rock, named because it resembles a leveled steamboat with a smoke stack (check out the closeup of Jeff and the kids). Grandma said, "you'll never make it" which gave our kids the incentive to prove her wrong! We're so proud of the two of them, they were such troupers! This was not an easy hike either. We were actually "rock climbing" using our hands part of the way up.
Once we finally reached the top, we stopped on this huge rock for our lunch break. The photo of Zoe was taken from the bottom looking up at our lunch spot later that evening. It's a ways up there!
After lunch we decided to hike down part way and back up the other side for a better view of the valley (which was carved out by water years ago). The coolest part was looking across the valley at the land on the opposite side that was up so high, level with us, and had farmland, roads, and houses. Here are a couple more views from the top along with a panoramic that my camera stitched together for me (click on it for a larger view).
OK, so I'll try not to make it so long without posting next time.
Have a great week!
