FUN DAY OFF!!!!!

Extra day means we will play!
Well not exactly true. We got so much work done today with the extra day off. It was much needed since we haven't had a single weekend day (let alone two in a row) free to do what we wanted in a couple months now. We got tons of stuff done around the house and then celebrated by going to see the new motion picture "Over the Hedge". It was soooo goood! The animation was awesome and the whole story line was very creative and so "in your face" about human behavior. You'll have to see it to understand what I mean. Here's a link to check it out! If you enter the site and then go to interviews you'll see T. Lewis who is from Omak, Washington and wrote the original comic strip the movie was based on. Highly recommended, the kids and us both enjoyed it so much.

The ducks had a swim today! They sure enjoyed it, now that it finally got warm out!

This Memorial Day...
We remember our dear old birch tree, who had to be cut down last fall due to ant infestation and old age. I had the trimmer pull aside a few nice white straight branches for me in hopes of making an arbor for our side yard some day. The Beauty Bush over there is so heavy and big that it falls down while in bloom and blocks the walk way. I started the arbor last fall but had to prop it up against the fence and postpone it's finishing. Jeff helped me, in the rain no less, drill the last pieces together last night and today we set it in it's place. I tied a bouquet of flowers from the top to dry and plan on doing this with all the flowers in the yard throughout the summer. Such a pretty addition to the yard. The kids played baseball outside while we finished up cleaning up the yard. I watched them from inside the kitchen while I made dinner and Jeff ran the BBQ. Cedar plank salmon, steak and ribs (we were planning for leftovers), mashed potatoes and gravy, corn on the cob (not that great, it's not local yet) and some yummy bread Jeff's parents had brought us last month that I'd been saving in the freezer for a good dinner. It was very tastey indeed! Hope you all had a great day!
