FRIDAY!

Ready to Party!!!
I just finished getting the house all ready for Zoe's little sleepover Birthday Party for her "Golden" Birthday! We've hung up decorations, broke out the golden goblets and plates and napkins, got the ice cream cake in the freezer chillin' and sprinkled the floors with gold rose petals. It's not my fault the darn dog is too lazy to get up while I'm trying to get things ready.

So how exactly do you entertain a handful of eleven year old girls? Well, firstly I have a couple crafts planned (O.K., twist my arm....) of course these will be optional, as a couple of them might just as soon run around and play or read a book rather than partake in my creative outlet for the day! I've got a bunch of pretty glass beads and hemp cording for the girls to make their own necklaces, bracelets, whatever. And then there are these adorable little hand bags that Zoe and I saw on another scrapper's blog months ago and we immediately ordered them to save for this day. They are just a basic cardboard cutout that you embellish, and so so cheap (everything at Oriental Trading is, great party stuff) that you could whip them out by the dozens. Of course we had to make one the other night to see how they'd turn out. Zoe picked all the paper and embellishments out while we were in the city a couple weeks ago. I sure miss our little scrapbook store that closed a few months ago! Here's a link to buy these if anyone is interested.

Scrappin' News
Well, I didn't make the Elements Team at SBB! I was bummed, but not surprised. There is just way too much competition out there, and seeings how I've just barely begun to design I don't have much experience under my belt. But is that going to stop the fun???? No Way! I've been playing and sketching all kinds of fun stuff! I also did speak with (well, email anyway) the owner at SBB who encouraged me to try out for the On-line Chats and Challenges Team instead. I've came up with a couple Challenge ideas and proposed them to her and hoping to hear back before we leave to go camping soon. I'd really love to host an "Elements of Design" Challenge because I think I could just go on and on about this topic. Plus I would still get to create freebies for those who participate in the challenge. We'll see what she thinks about it all!

Well, wish us luck tonight! Have a great weekend, I'll post "after party" photos later!
