LAZY SATURDAY!

And that's an understatement!
I've haven't done much of anything today! Zoe and her girlfriends didn't wake up until 8:30 which is about the same time Max came home from his very first sleepover. That was a little strange for Mommy, to have her baby gone all night, but he'd been asking for sometime now and I guess he did just fine! We knew he would though because him and his buddy Dylan are like brothers. They even slept together in the bottom bunk, how sweet is that? Anyway, back to the girls... Jeff made French toast, sausage and cantaloupe and strawberries for them while I helped them construct their little handbags. Didn't they turn out cute?

Last night was fun, although I have to admit Jeff and I were not involved a whole lot!! It's a strange feeling to not be wanted or needed like that... I'm usually quite the party planner. Zoe and her four friends just wanted to hang out in the back yard. They drank two half-racks of sodapop over the duration, and a couple bottles of bubbly apple cider. I'm surprised they didn't float out of here (and doubley surprised no one peed in the tent last night!! HA!). They played this silly board game that Jeff's sister Kathy got in college called "Dweebs, Geeks and Weirdos!" A couple of the girls had played it here before and requested it again. Basically you draw cards and do a bunch of silly acts (like put an ice cube down your shirt), or get asked silly questions. I only witnessed one round before getting kicked out of the backyard. Zoe's friend Janeah had to answer "YES" to everything her friends asked her for 30 seconds. "Do you look like my ugly sister?"...."YES", "Are you stupid?"..."Yes, that's me!!", "Do have a crush on so and so?"...."YES" (with blushed cheeks). Perfect game for a bunch of giggly 11 and 12 year olds. Then we ate Zoe's "Rainbow Ice Cream Cake" and opened presents. I was very impressed by the girls' gifts as they were all well thought out and mostly handmade. Grace made Zoe a neat bulletin board for her wall and included pictures of herself (Grace is moving in the fall, it's a sad story), Janeah gave Zoe one of her great grandmother's purfume bottles from 1940 refilled with some new perfume, Bessie sewed a small pillow for Zoe and embroidered it nicely with ribbon and floss, and Donna (who had already given her a book which Zoe has already read) gave her a handmade keychain (she knew Zoe just got her first OWN HOUSE KEY the other day) and a bunch of coins from Spain (her Mom is from Spain). Very cool! They rounded off the night with a great movie that Zoe's school teacher daddy picked out. "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" Remember that one Man??? It is a totally RAD movie, it's AWESOME DUDE!! (and has a history lesson in it to boot) I'm sure they all had a great time for they couldn't stop thanking Zoe once it was time to go home. Me? I needed a nap by noon today!! UUUGH! Next year will be even gigglier and crazier I'm sure!

More Scrappin' News
Well, sounds like I made it into the August Ezine at SBB also (I was interviewed to be in the September issue a while back)! Kristi McFadden, one of the long time SBB Team Members contacted me a couple days ago asking to use my layout "Duck Release" to demonstrate a certain style she will be discussing. You can see my layout RIGHT HERE in my gallery at SBB. I'm guessing she is going to be covering working with blending modes because I used a lot of them in this layout!

Sneak Peek

Here's a few doodads I've been playing with. Not sure if I'll make these into complete kits or offer them as little freebies. Haven't heard back from Amy at SBB yet about hosting any challenges either, but these could be freebies for those that attend. I'd love to hear what you think.
