CATCH OF THE DAY and GREAT NEWS

Wow, now that's a fish!
Jeff got Zoe up bright and early today to go hit the Columbia River. Now that he knows his bargain motor runs he had to got try the big waters. Jeff caught the big one that got away (of course, right?) but look at the whopper my eleven year old daughter reeled in!

These are called Triploid Trout and they are specially bred with a third chromosome so that they can not breed. What does that mean? That means they get extremely big, extremely quickly. And even though they are a trout they have pink salmon-like meat and are very tasty (Or so I hear, I usually let the family partake as I'm not much of a fish eater). Anyway, the water surrounding the pens where they raise these monsters is a very popular because many escape and/or are released. They catch one every time they go. This one takes the cake however. It measured in at 27 inches and even though they didn't have a scale with them the surrounding fisherman estimated this one at around eleven pounds! Wow! Jeff is cooking up half for dinner tonight, and the other half will go into the smoker tomorrow.

Wanna Here My Great News?
I'm on an Elements Team!! It was time to do something more with my new passion of designing scrap supplies than just giving away blog freebies (don't worry, I'll still do that also) so I started looking around. Digiscrappin.biz is a site that's been around for awhile but is under new ownership and has a lot of exciting things coming up including a Grand Opening, and New Name. I'm not telling.... you'll just have to stay tuned to find out September 1st!

Have a good one!
