If you are looking for this months freebie kit, "Ocean Blue", keep scrolling. It's below. And don't forget, if you complete a layout, post it to an online gallery and then email me the link (my email is in my profile to the right), I'll send you the coordinating alpha to go with it.
Today's Events
Jeff was pretty excited first thing this morning. He saw an ad in the paper, some guy had two gas boat motors for sale and only wanted $25 a piece for them. Remember the hurt back incident? Well, he hasn't been able to get the electric motor to run much better since then and he really wants to go do some river fishing, but since we're on such a budget these days a $100 motor was out of the question. Anyway, he jumped on that deal and ran right out there with Max (he lived a few miles out of town). He said the fellow was an older man with lots of stories, and apparently lots of zucchini because he sent Jeff home with these babies! What in the world will I do with these? Give one to each friend I guess and make bread.
So Jeff ended up buying both ancient motors, with the zucchini, for $35. Do they run??? Well, I don't think they did very well, but Jeff played around with one of them all day today and got it going. He hasn't looked at the other one yet. So we took a test drive and went out to the lake tonight. Caught a bunch of little crappie and let them all go and got some gorgeous shots of the lake. If you look up to the upper right of the lake shots you can see the plume of the two fires we have burning over here. They are pretty much merged into one now and have burned over 70,000 acres as of this morning. It's burning a bunch of old dead beetle kill so they are pretty much letting it burn. I guess the skeletal remains of a man that has been missing for a few years were found up there today (EEEEWWW!) Anyway, Max thought he had a fish on in this picture, so the expression is genuine, but alas, it was seaweed (or lakeweed I guess you'd say)
Layout Done
There was actually a time when I was completely caught up on my scrap booking. Well that was before I really caught the photography bug and started enjoying taking pictures. I took over 60 just today, of all the flowers in the yard, of the hummingbirds and gold finches, of Max crawling over his Daddy's truck, of Max dressed in a nice shirt, tie and sunglasses just because he wanted to look "fancy". I just can't seem to put down the camera. It was around my neck the better part of the day. Jeff just keeps telling me, "It's just disc sapce, and we can always get more" so I just keep shooting. Anyway, I'm slowly but surely getting things scraped. Here's one I did yesterday of Max at the beach. I was excited to get these natural shots of him because he is usually pretty posed for his photos. He didn't know I had the camera on and when he yelled at me to look at his seaweed he found I turned around and got this...
I used Trish Jones' awesome Access All Areas, Underground kit for this as well as the alpha bonus and star from the Ocean Blues kit.
Ta, Ta!
