UUUUGHH! CAN'T BREATHE

It's up to 83,000 acres burning near our home now. I woke up this morning and couldn't even see the hillside. And this has been going on for almost a month!!! The estimated date of containment, October 1st, or whenever the first snow starts falling in the mountains. Can you believe it. And there are hundreds of firefighters up there, there's just really not much they can do except protect the firelines and the towns. It's burning like mad! And the paper says tomorrow is going to bring dry heat and the wind will pick up and who knows what that will cause. Everyone I talk to is having breathing problems, or sore throats and sore eyes. It's crazy!

We went for a drive up to check on the ducks today. That was our second time up to check and we still didn't see them. Jeff reassured me that they were probably hiding in the tall grass or had flown to the next lake or pond. I think about them a lot, hope they are doing well. Anyway, I took this photo today to show you the smoky valley. And right below it is a picture I took this spring from the same exact location! YUK!

My boys!
I did this layout today for Trish using her "Joy of a Boy" kit. I love the rich deep colors in the background papers. This is Jeff trying to rest that aching back of his while we rode the ferry home from vacation last month and Max watching the sites out the window. Ferry rides are so exciting!

WOW! Amazing how long a fire can burn and how long a fire can be under the ground, just waiting to come back out again. It's scary stuff girl!
