Mother's Day Memories!
So some of you have been asking me what I did for Mother's Day this year! I have to tell you, it was different than any other Mother's Day I've ever had, and a very pleasant day in the same. I woke up late. Yes, LATE! I had told the dear children as we scrambled to clean up the entire house all day Saturday (while DH was away at Tennis Districts) that the only thing left to do was "VACUUM", something that I am so, so tired of doing. With a small 1300 square foot home and a extremely hairy, 100 pound Husky/Lab mix and two kids playing spring sports... my house is in constant need of vacuum attention. So I told the kids all I wanted for Mother's Day was to wake up to a vacuumed house!

Not only did it get vacuumed, but I had gifts and cards on the table when I finally crawled out of bed! Very inventive my children and Jeff this year. Zoe has been painting our HUGE collection of sand dollars from last summer's beach vacation lately, and she custom painted and wrapped a few beauties for me. Take a gander....

and Max....what can I say, he is such a sensitive, loving kiddo! He made me this card with a coupon for 11 minutes (he says he meant to do 10 but accidentally went up to 11) of back rubs. He even drew a picture, and then punched the numbers and he gave the the rubs throughout the day! What a sweetie! He still owes me a few minutes too and keeps reminding me.

And Jeff.... instead of the usual flowers, gardening tools, etc. that he gives me every year. . . he made me a sweet card with a picture of a sink faucet in it....yep, I wondered too. But turns out our drippy faucet had been driving him nuts also. So we took a trip to Home Depot and he let me pick out the one "I" wanted. No logical reasoning of why "his pick" was better or anything. I got the one I wanted and he installed it! Isn't she a beauty?...sprayer and all. Isn't it silly, the simple pleasures of a housewife?

That's all for now folks! Have a great day!

Awww, what a cute little card and the little punches and all! Too sweet! Sounds like you had a nice relaxing day. What a little artist Zoe is!
