ANOTHER FULL WEEKEND!!!

I'M SUCH A BAD MOMMY.....

First,
I got up into Max's bed (it's a way up high bunk bed) to change his sheets today and discovered that he'd been sleeping with books, 2 flashlights, several toys, about a dozen stuffed animals, and way to many pillows! I spent the whole day cleaning up his room while he was at Dylan's (and Karina's) house. Thanks Jill and Lisa, I couldn't have disposed of a huge garbage bag full of stuff if Max was here watching me.

Second, I let me son join Little Kid's Wrestling. What was I thinking? Well, he really wanted to do it for one thing. Practices seem to be pretty fun for him, but I'm not sure he enjoyed the four and a half hour Saturday Wrestling Match that we went to yesterday. For one thing, most of these kids have wrestled before. Max (after only two practices) is pretty inexperienced and doesn't really have that much control in a match. The adrenaline going through these little kids is incredible. When I imagine how I would feel to have someone the same size as me grabbing at my knees and trying to knock me over, twisting my arms and rolling me over, I get a little uneasy. There were tears shed (not just Max's, it seemed to be a common scenario), some very tense Mommies, and some very riled up Daddys! UUUGH! It's an experience, I can say that. Needless to say, Max swore he hated it, didn't have any fun at all, and never wanted to go to another wrestling match again. UNTIL..... that night when both him and Dylan said they couldn't wait for the next one! Thank goodness this sport is only four weeks long!

These two skinny little guys look pretty cute all ready for their match though don't they? I was cracking up at all the "mean faces" I was getting in the poses in all my photos of them. I guess it all goes along with the sport!

and here are some of those awful "anguish" shots of Max in action. No, he wasn't crying in these photos....just full of adrenaline. Tears came later.

Reason #3 I'm a Bad Mommy....
I didn't cook a single meal this weekend! Friday night we went out for dinner (it was planned, I just decided that there was no way we were sitting at home and making more messes Friday night after the long week we had). Saturday morning we fed ourselves as we scrambled together to get out the door for the match which was almost an hour from town. After the match we went out for lunch. Saturday evening we hit the high school sponsored "Kiddie Carnival" where our friend Dennis had made an incredible Spaghetti feed, enough to feed many, many people. We didn't eat there, however, but Dennis sent the Streeter's home with extra sauce, and they fed us at their place instead. Max stayed the night with Dylan and after Jeff let Zoe and I sleep in this morning, we walked down to the Cariboo for breakfast. Tonight we ate leftovers from Friday! UUUGH, there goes my diet this weekend! Back on track again tomorrow!

SPRING IS ON IT's WAY!!! I KNOW IT IS!

Well...our front yard is bare of snow, but the back yard is not. The shade of the Blue Spruce always postpones the melt in our backyard by a good two weeks or so. Jeff got the Christmas lights down today, and the kids have been on doggie poo duty (it tends to get lost in the snow over the winter), so I know that spring is close. I'm looking forward to that extra hour of light starting next week!

PRE-SPRING SALE and a NEW KIT
I'm having a little Pre-Spring Sale at my store at Scrapbookbytes. I've put my latest three full kits on sale for 30% off, and several random other goodies are up to 70% off.

My new Lemon Tree kit is finished and up in the store. This was so much fun to make, it just reminds me of the sunny days that are not that far away!

and lastly....
Since I am only today getting my photos off the camera from the last two weeks....here is a shot I took of the eclipse of the moon the other night. It was very cool to watch! The photo was taken through trees across the street from us, so it made some interesting patterns in my photo.

Have a great week everyone!

OMG. Those photos of Max wrestling are so hard to look at. I want to laugh but then the Mother in me is cringing. You did well not to go out there and push those kids off him LOL. Your new kit looks great!!

Love Max's Canada socks :0) Very intense wrestlers those two look.

Nice pic of the eclipse. I was pretty bummed about anything I got out of it, and I think they are already deleted :0)
