ONLY THE 2ND TIME...
...on the hill for me this year. Just as well, really, I've had way too much to keep me busy on the weekends. Luckily the kids have been able to make it up a few additional times with Jeff. The whole reason Jeff joined the ski patrol last year is so that we could spend more time as a family skiing (for free, none-the-less), and I'm still looking forward to those days in the future! I think I am finally getting the hang of it! I have my turns down quite a bit better now and I'm not afraid of going too fast, which has always slowed down my turns. We are suppose to be going up to watch the big snow mobile "HILL CLIMB" races next weekend, but I'm not sure the snow will hold out for it or not. It was getting pretty slushy and rocky up there today.
Today was one of Jeff's Patrol days so we got to hang out with him while he put up "tripods" to warn skiers of melted spots, and scope out the runs. The nice part was that we got to partake on an excellent BBQ Potluck! One guy has a relative that owns the Teriaki spot in town and he brought up a bunch of marinated meat from the restaurant! YUMMM!!!
Are you suppose to be doing this when you are almost 40 year's old? Hmmmmm... are we going to be sore tomorrow?
and on the way back home, we kept our eyes peeled along the river. The eagle was back, and this time, he had a friend.
