PLAYING CATCH-UP

LAST YEAR for Christmas gifts I made a slide-show of all my layouts for family and friends. My goal was to do the same thing this year, but of course the whole season got away with my time and I never got too far. So last night I sat down, started going through my albums to see what I still want to scrap for the year and started a new slide show. Well.... I'm four songs and 115 slides into it already and it's looking great. I still have some favorite moments of 2006 that I'd like to get in there though so I'm plugging away. I got these three done today.

"The Owl Restaurant"

OK, I know what you are thinking...Hooters? Yep, that's right! You have to know the whole story though. The last two years we've gone to Seattle over spring break to stay in a nice hotel for a couple nights and meet up with friends from home and friends that have moved away. The kids always have a great time and the adults play catch up and everyone enjoys the trip. Anyway, we all got to our hotel this year quite late and the kids (and us) were all starving. There were only two restaurants within walking distance, and if you know Seattle at all you'll know the last thing you want to do at 8 p.m. with 6 hungry kids is get into a car and try to drive somewhere and find a parking spot. So one place was way out of our budget, and the other was Hooters. We called ahead because they claim to be a "family" restaurant. They said "Sure come on over" and we headed across the street. I have to say, that was one of the most entertaining parts of the weekend! Our kids were treated like royalty. They had kids menus, crayons, balloons...and they even made each kid a foil hat that looked like elephant ears and a trunk. All in all the gals were pretty mellow and when they did do some dancing (to YMCA) they had our kids get up on chairs and join in. It was a riot! The boys kept saying "I love this Owl Restaurant"

I used Sara Carling's "Dinner Party" freebie for this along with my own felt pieces

TREMORS

OK, here's another very memorable time in this year. Zoe's girlscouts raised enough money last year to take a trip to "Silverwood" Theme Park so we tagged along. For my long time blog readers you've seen this already when I had it on the blog back in June! I would have to say this is the most frightened I've ever been in my whole life! I screamed so hard that I lost my voice for 4 days! I only did it for the "picture" so I guess I better scrap it hu?

Carrie Steven's paper and alpha, adventure tag by Dawn Stocstill, notebook from Trish Jones, and clips are my own.

FUN with FRIENDS

These are photos we just took a couple days ago of some friends of ours going sledding with us. The kids had a great time, you can just tell my the expressions on their faces.

Everything is from Sarah VanDyke and my collab kit "Winter Dreams"

AND FINALLY
I wanted to say Thank you to all who sent our family cards and gifts at Christmas this year. We have had a great break so far, even with a clogged up sink and no plumbers working till tomorrow! We've had tons and tons of new snow and it's still falling. I'll get some more photos up soon!
