HAPPY (inter) NATIONAL SCRAPBOOK DAY!!!

It's another year to celebrate!

EVERYTHING IN MY STORE IS 40% OFF, Prices already marked! I also have three new mini kits for a buck a piece! Never mind that it took me three months to design them!

Update on my life....
I have one more week of wrapping things up. I have to create an impressive resume and an attention getting cover letter and finish my lengthy reflection paper, and put together one final Powerpoint presentation and then, WOOHOOO!!!! I'm officially done with my masters program. Next comes all the paperwork; moving transcripts around and applying for Washington state certification, etc. Unfortunately, the hiring does not look good for this coming year! Uuugh, all that hard work, and now I have to wait! Maybe something will come up! I'm hopeful anyway.

So, what else has been going on?

Girl Scout trip...
Last weekend I helped chaperon Zoe's girl scout sleep over at the Seattle Science Center! It was a lot of fun! Lisa, Laurie and I headed out Friday at noon with seven girls and met up with 390 other girls to camp out on the floor of the science center (we slept around the Puget Sound watershed model-I slept under that big whale skeleton). Other than a scheduled science workshop, laser light show, and an Imax movie, the girls pretty much had free rein of the whole building. I think the butterfly dome was the most popular place. We visited twice and took all kinds of photos. Lights went out at exactly 12:30, and lights were back on at 7:30 the next morning for more exploring and play time!

The next day we took the girls on their first (and my first) monorail ride to the mall downtown to shop and try on dresses and out for Starbucks. We headed to Pikes Place next for a little market shopping (yes, I picked up a huge bouquet of spring flowers...how could I not?). We headed out for lunch next and ate Dim Sum (ordering from the carts), something I had never done before! It was quite an experience (and I even ate crab in a shell...not my usual fare). Finally, we did a little shopping at Uwajimaya, a huge Asian market that I always hear about, but had never been to. Wow, this place is amazing! Zoe and Marissa, however, did not appreciate the rotisserie ducks (heads on), see photo, LOL!

Max had his birthday last Wednesday, but of course we had too many things going on to do much celebrating! I took him out shopping and let him choose dinner (take out Mexican) before the big spring music concert that evening (The kids did an awesome job!!!) Thank you everyone who sent Max cards! He just loves getting things in the mail! We'll be having a little after school celebration one day this week (before soccer game time), and Grandma and Grandpa F. will be up next weekend to celebrate all over again! I can't believe my baby is 9!

So, maybe life will return to normal around here soon, although I'm beginning to believe that this is normal. We've been averaging two events an evening (between band concerts, softball games, soccer games, and scouts), and Jeff has been gone two nights a week and all day every Saturday for tennis. At least now that my evening homework sessions will be ending my house may get cleaned and the laundry might stay caught up!

Have a great week!
