Wow! It's been busy!
So, last Sunday was the canoe trip (see below in previous post)
Monday...
...Zoe had practice (and I had a meeting...uughh...budget cuts)!
On Tuesday...
...Jeff's parents came up for a short (but sweet) visit. Tom and Audrey got a small taste of what our spring has been like. Tuesday night Max had a soccer game. I stayed home to make dinner (a Mexican feast) while Jeff, Grandma, Grandpa, and the kids went to the game.
Wednesday night...
...we had softball photos, two double header softball games, and cubscouts. Here are G and G with the kiddos in their uniforms while watching the games.
Thank you Tom and Audrey for coming to see us, the pizza, and the gorgeous roses! We're enjoying them every day!
Thursday...
...I took 1/2 a Personal Day at work and headed up to visit my student teaching kids at their 6th grade camp! It was such a wonderful day. I took off by myself in the minivan (good tunes blaring and my camera in tow) and took my sweet time driving up to camp. The drive was gorgeous! I had a mission "to find a moose" since several have been spotted around here lately, but had no luck. Instead I took in gorgeous lake views, wild flowers, a few cows, several birds, and I even stopped to view the canola field again. This time I played around with my photo a bit. Here is my first attempt at a digital HDR photo. It was fun to play with.
Spawning Lahontan Trout at Omak Lake
Not a Moose (although it had me fooled from a distance)
I arrived at camp just in time to sit in on their "Art in Nature" guest speaker (the high school art teacher), and an art project involving only the natural items around us. Here are several of the art pieces we created (mine is the circular shape with the purple flower in the middle).
Here's a group shot that Mr. Brown (the art teacher) set up. I snuck in behind him and took a shot myself!
And one that a student took of me standing by the campfire (which made me really long to go camping! Oh, I can't wait for summer!!!)
Friday...
...was a regular day at work. I came home after school...and took a nap!
Today...
...Jeff finished his year in tennis with some close matches at districts. The kids and I got a little weeding done, planting done, laundry and housework done, shopping done...Tomorrow we are planning a fun family hike and a little much needed family time. Monday we will get some work done around here. Maybe we will even get the air conditioners put in and the fans located and dusted off. It went from heater weather (40's at night) to high 80's in just a few days! Just one more sign of summer coming!
Enjoy your weekend!
