The 6TH GRADE and a MEMORY.....

OK, BUSINESS FIRST...
I've finally finished my new collection for Plaindigitalwrapper. I've been working on this for a few weeks now after being inspired by Karen's gorgeous shirt one day. Her kit turned out to be so fun to make I decided to make one based off the interests of each of the 6th grade teachers I had the opportunity to work with this year. I had such a great time, and I'm sad that I may not be working in that department again next year. I will still see the kids now that I will be working in the library, that is a good thing, but I will miss the teachers. They are just the best!

The 6th Grade Collection
available RIGHT HERE at Plaindigitalwrapper. Pick up the entire collection for a big savings now, or just grab up the one that you like the best. My personal favorite, the "Gilmore" kit.

MEMORY....
O.K., think back about 20 years. What was your favorite thing to play with? I'd love to hear comments on this one. Was it the Atari? or an outdoor activity? Maybe Strawberry Shortcake or Evil Kineval? I have lots of childhood memories about the toys we used to play with, but this week I had a rememberance of one in particular. . . The Rubik Cube..........

Did anyone master this? Well, this week my husband has! We inheritated his families entire collection a few years ago, including the obscure round cube, the four square cube, and a few other strange shapes. Remember??? Anyway, Jeff had a next year Senior inquire about doing his Senior Culminating Project on mastering the Rubik's cube and Jeff brought the collection in for the kids to play with this week. In conclusion, after studying the "how to book" and playing around a bit, Jeff has gotten his time down to 5 minutes. So as Culminating Project Coordinator, I have to let this student know that mastering the Rubiks cube is not a challenging enough project. On to the next idea.

You've got to check this out. Here's a video of this guy named Chris, who has mastered the Rubik's cube. Scroll down a little ways and see a video of him mastering the cube, one handed no less, in less than 30 seconds. You can see Chris' site HERE. And then for those of you who want to test your own skills, click HERE to try a virtual cube out for yourself.
